"Because this college is one of the few colleges that fit my busy schedule. It also has a program that I am wanting to get into. Also, I heard a presentation from them as well that help pursue me into this college."
"It was closest to me. And yes, I made the right decision. I enjoyed it."
"because of the low cost of tuition and the convenience of commute."
"It was clos to home and a lot of friends went there."
"It was close to where I lived. It was inexpensive, and offered the classes I wanted. I did make the right decision. It's helped me with a job in the career I love doing."
"It was my local community college, it was cheap, and my commute was very short."
What surprised people about the school they chose? What surprised people about the school they chose?
"I was surprised of the actual cost of the degree. I thought it would be a little cheaper being that it was not a full college campus."
"Online classes were more challenging than I expected. I guess I need the structure of going to class at a certain time and sitting in a classroom. There are too many distractions when you do it on your own, at home, etc. Since I did not live on campus, the experience of commuting must be different than living in a dorm. I didn't get to experience that and personal relations are lost when you commute."
"It had small classes and a great atmosphere. The instructional quality was great, and the instructors were easy to talk to."
"When I started at the college of choice, It surprised me that a small college could provide the level of support and education they provide. I was shocked that such a small college offered so many choices of study and had the necessary means to support your choice of study all the way to the end"
"It did not realy surprise me but I was pleased at how good the teachers were in their field."
"I lived in a rural area and rarely wen into the city. The size of the campus was a bit daunting, as well as the amount of people I didn't know."
"I was surprised of the quality of education I received in my field. One of my professors is the head of the Networking department for the college, and another is a high level Network Engineer for Mediacom the ISP. The real life examples they were able to provide were instrumental to my learning."
How do people describe their job hunt? How do people describe their job hunt?
"I actually went through my college to find a job. There was an opening in the neighborhood of my college and the company actually came to the college interviewing graduates. I got the job after my interview and that was it. It was a really easy process."
"I wasn't really looking for a job in my field. I was looking for any kind of job. The job I found was with a real estate company where I was hired for a different position not related to this field and later on applied to a job within the company which is where I am now."
"My job hunting experience was a well of frustration that led to me just giving up. It wasn't that the classes were bad, it was that the jobs had all dried up so I moved on to other things."
"I completed resumes, went to job and career building offices. I took part in job fairs and job searches through the local job seeking centers, I also completed dozens of online and offline job applictions."
"I had went to several job fairs in my area. That was my starting point to find employers in my fireld."
"The job hunt was fairly easy because I was already in the field I was taking the certification classes for. It was a sideways move within the company. I just needed verifiable certs stating that I knew what I was doing."
"My job hunt started after I went and did a certificate exam from Cisco. After I passed my exam I spent 2+ months searching for work around my area, and expanding from there. I had a hard time to start, most companies wanted someone with actual experience in the field, and not just a certificate."
